Piotr Korzeniowski’s solo exhibition, “…a bite of Mexico” / “…un bokado de Mexico” was presented in the temporary exhibition hall of the Museo de la Isla de Cozumel in Mexico from September 27 to November 14, 2024. Presented 52 premiere works culminating the artist’s nine-month stay in the eastern part of the Mexican Republic (Yucatan Peninsula). The exhibition summarizes the scientific and artistic research he conducted during his sabbatical. The works presented in the exhibition are an artistic response to his encounter with the vitality of nature and culture in this region of Mexico, expressed through the artist’s personal language of visual expression.
The exhibition featured works in ink and pencil on paper and canvas, a series of photographs, and two original films – “HERITAGE” and “THE RHYTHM OF MEXICO” a kind of “visual symphony” that uses a montage of moving images without the traditional cinematic narrative. The exhibition is organized by the Museo de la Isla de Cozumel and the Fundacion de Parques y Museos de Cozumel.
